BERKELEY - Twelve members of the California track and field team earned spots on the Academic All-MPSF team, the conference office announced today. The MPSF awarded six Cal men and six Cal women academic honors.
The complete list of academic honorees follows below.
The Cal men took second and the women fourth at the MPSF Indoor Championships in March. Senior All-American Alysia Johnson set an MPSF record and the school indoor record when she won the 800-meter title. Besides Johnson, senior All-American Ed Wright won the high jump title, freshman Cherrelle Garrett won the 60-meter dash and Michael Coe won the 3000 meters.
The Bears, now in the midst of their outdoor season, compete in their final home meet of the season, the Brutus Hamilton Invitational, from April 25-26 at Edwards Stadium.
