Silver and Vollmer qualify for the Championship Finals on Saturday

Columbus, OH - Five more swimming events are in the books in the third and final day of the preliminary time trials at the 2008 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion hosted by Ohio State on Friday. Senior Emily Silver qualified for the championship final in the 100-yard freestyle with a 48.50. Dana Vollmer also qualified for the championship finals in the 200-yard butterfly with the fourth-fastest heat (1:55.39). Championship Finals begin at 4:00 p.m. tonight.

The quartet of Tara Thomas, Hannah Wilson, Emily Silver and Dana Vollmer qualified for the championship final in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay with the second-fastest time of 3:14.55

Other highlights included Lauren Rogers qualifying for the B Final with a lifetime best 1:55.12 in the 200-yard backstroke.

Rachel Ridgeway qualified for the B Final in the 200 fly with a 1:56.56. Madison Kennedy posted a 48.76 in the 100 free.
