Cal Lands Seven on the Pac-10 All-Academic Team

March 27, 2008

Berkeley - Seven athletes from the women's swimming team have been selected to the Pac-10 All-Academic teams for the 2007-08 season, as announced by the conference office on Thursday.

Senior Emily Verdin, who was a second-team academic choice last year, earned first-team accolades this season. Sophomore Lauren Boyle and senior Kelly Stravers (now a three-time selection) garnered second-team honors, while Alexandra Ellis, Blake Hayter, Lauren Rogers (honorable mention in 2007) and Dana Vollmer all secured honorable mention nods.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
