Feb. 3, 2008 AUGUSTA, Ga. - Tyler Wynn and Nick Achberger each had RBI-triples as Carson-Newman picked up a 9-2 win over Paine on Sunday afternoon. Wynn went 3-for-4 with a two-run triple in the second inning to help the Eagles build an early lead. Achberger added a two-run triple, and finished the day with three RBIs. C-N (3-1) got solid five innings from starter Wes McIntyre (WP, 1-0), who struck out nine. Wesley Dozier added a 2-for-3 day with an RBI. Carson-Newman returns to action Tuesday in Tigerville, South Carolina for a doubleheader with North Greenville. The Eagles will travel to USC-Aiken for a three game set next weekend.
