ROCK HILL, S.C. - Carson-Newman senior Nick Achberger has been named South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week, league officials announced today.

Achberger led the Eagles to a series win over Augusta State. He finished C-N's first four games 8-of-13 (.615) at the plate, with three triples and home run. He also had seven RBIs.

The Anderson, South Carolina-native carried the Eagles' offense in a 9-4 win over Augusta State Friday afternoon. He finished 4-for-4 with two triples and a blast to left field for his first home run of the season. He added a two-run triple in Eagles' 9-2 win Sunday over Paine.

Carson-Newman (3-1) returns to action on Tuesday with a doubleheader against North Greenville University in Tigerville, South Carolina.
