JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Carson-Newman Eagles finished their 2008 campaign ranked 29th in both of the recognized D-II baseball polls. The Eagles turned in a school record 43 wins, with the record-breaking win coning over rival Tusculum in an elimination game in the NCAA South Regional Tournament. C-N finished the regular season in sole possession of second place in the South Atlantic Conference standings after posting a 14-6 record in SAC. Head coach Tom Griffin's Eagles followed with a third-place showing at the SAC Tournament in April, as well as a third-place finish at regional in Tampa in May.
