Eagles Listed In NCAA Statistics



Sophomore Jordan Dixon is a big reason the Eagles are one of the nation's top-scoring teams.

INDIANAPOLIS --- The Carson-Newman Men's Basketball team is 2nd in the nation in scoring according to this week's NCAA Division II statistics.

The Eagles (14-4, 6-2 SAC) are averaging 90.6 points per game, which leads the conference. C-N is 8.6 points per game behind the pace set by national scoring leader West Virginia State (99.2 ppg.)

Carson-Newman is also listed in three other team categories and four individual.

Carson-Newman is 5th in steals per game (10.9 spg.), 23rd in free-throw percentage (74.5%), and 28th in won-lost percentage (77.8%).

Junior Jesse McMurray (Weber City, Va.) is 29th nationally in three-point field-goals per game (2.9) and 36th in three-point field-goal percentage (42.7%).

Additionally, junior Andrew Johnson (Cairo, Ga.) is ranked 41st-nationally in steals per game (2.2), and sophomore Jordan Dixon (Clinton, Tenn.) is 47th in the country in assists per game (4.9).

The Eagles are on the road tonight to face North Greenville University at 7 p.m.
