INDIANAPOLIS --- The Carson-Newman Men's Basketball team is, for the second straight week, 2nd-nationally in scoring offense according to this week's NCAA Division II statistics. The Eagles (16-4, 7-2 South Atlantic Conference) are averaging 91.4 points per game, which leads the SAC. C-N is nine points per game behind the pace set by national scoring-leader West Liberty State (100.4 ppg.) Carson-Newman is also listed in four other team categories and three individual. The Eagles are 9th in steals per game (10.7 spg.), 25th in won-lost percentage (80%), 26th in three-point field goals per game (9.0), and 31st in free-throw percentage (73.8%). Junior Jesse McMurray (Weber City, Va.) is 18th nationally in three-point field-goals per game (3.3) and 36th in three-point field-goal percentage (45.1%). McMurray was ranked 29th and 36th respectively last week. Sophomore Jordan Dixon (Clinton, Tenn.) is 50th in the country in assists per game (4.9). The Eagles are on the road tonight in a conference match-up against Lenoir-Rhyne. Tip-off is for 8 p.m.
