JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Carson-Newman men's soccer will celebrate the life of one of their former players, Roland File, this Saturday with a fundraiser and memorial game with proceeds to go to the Rolie File Memorial Lighting Fund . File was a member of the Eagles nationally-ranked squad during the 2006 season, a year in which the C-N won its fourth consecutive South Atlantic Conference title. In the spring of 2007, the Carson-Newman campus came to a standstill after File was tragically killed in a February car accident. The son of Steve and Donna File, "Rolie" was a very influential member of the Eagle program, leaving an impression on many teammates and friends in the C-N community. The Eagles will scrimmage the University of the Cumberlands on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. in Burke-Tarr Stadium to celebrate the life of Roland File. A $5 fee will be charged at the gate which will be put towards the Rolie File Memorial Lighting Fund, a project started Rolie's honor. Also on Saturday night, Team United, an all-star team from Jefferson and Hamblen County Hispanic Leagues, will face the Lakeway All-Stars, a men's league all-star team. Gates will open at 4:15 p.m. Concessions will be sold at the game, beginning at 4:3- p.m. No food, drink, or alcoholic beverages will be permitted. Admission is $5 per person.
