JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Wingate Bulldogs slipped past the Carson-Newman Eagles 5-4 on Tuesday afternoon. The loss puts the Eagles at 3-3 on the season and 0-3 in conference play. The Eagles captured two of three doubles points to take a 2-1 lead. The doubles team of senior Preston Sneed (Kingsport, Tenn.) and sophomore Jack Harvie (Snellville, Ga.) led the Eagles 8-6 at #2. Harvie (#4) and freshman Trent Slagle (Knoxville, Tenn.) (#6) were the only two Eagles to win in singles, 6-2, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-0 respectively. The Eagles return to action on Wednesday, April 2, where they will travel to Hickory, N.C., to face Lenoir-Rhyne. Men Doubles 1. Preston Sneed/Jack Harvie (CN) d. Valarezo/Patchell 8-6
