JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Mars Hill College used a 19-4 run at the end of the first half to run by Carson-Newman 100-69 Saturday night in Holt Fieldhouse.

Mars Hill (11-10, 3-6 SAC) shot 56 percent as a team (36-of-64) from the floor and were red-hot from behind the arc, connecting on 9-of-15 threes.

Ariel Okunowo led Mars Hill with 27 points, finishing 8-of-15 from the floor and 9-of-11 at the line. She was one of six Lions that reached double-figures.

Jocelyn Williams and Allison Schafer each had 12. Shamia Terry and Jessica Blanford each had 10. Brittini Young finished with a double-double on 11 points and 10 assists.

The Lady Eagles, one of the nation's best rebounding teams, were beaten on the boards 42-29.

Junior Ashley Tipton led the Lady Eagles with 13 points on 3-of-5 from behind the arc. Emily Mason added 12 points and eight boards.

Carson-Newman heads to the road on Wednesday. The Lady Eagles will face Lenoir-Rhyne in Hickory, North Carolina. Tipoff is at 6 p.m.
