Lady Eagles Listed In NCAA Statistics



Tipton continues to be one of the nation's best long-range shooters.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Carson-Newman College Women's Basketball team is third in the nation in rebound margin according to this week's NCAA Division II statistics.

The Lady Eagles (11-9, 5-3 in South Atlantic Conference) are outrebounding opponents 12.8 boards per game . Carson-Newman is also listed in two other team categories and five individual.

Junior Ashley Tipton (Knoxville, Tenn.) is 2nd nationally in three-point field-goal percentage (49.5%) and 29th in three-point field goals per game (2.7).

Carson-Newman is 19th in three-point field-goal percentage (37.4%) and 39th in field-goal percentage per game (44.3).

Sophomore guard Ashley Kyle (Jefferson City, Tenn.) is ranked 17th in the country in assist-turnover ratio (2.02), 25th in free-throw percentage (85.3), and 35th in assists per game (5.0).

The Lady Eagles will be back at home this Saturday for conference play against Mars Hill. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
