JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Carson-Newman Lady Eagles host Lincoln Memorial Saturday night in Holt Fieldhouse. It is Senior Night at Mossy Creek, as C-N plays its final regular season home game. Carson-Newman (13-11, 6-5 SAC) enters the game off a 72-50 win Wednesday over Brevard. Senior Emily Mason (Rogersville, Ala.), 17 points and 13 rebounds, and sophomore Shari Buford, 20 points and seven rebounds, led the way. The Lady Eagles hope to build off a 72-59 win at Lincoln Memorial in their South Atlantic Conference opener. Mason had 16 points and eight rebounds in the win in Harrogate, Tenn. While C-N goes for the series sweep, the last meeting came 84 days ago on December 1st and both teams have gone through an entire season of ups and downs since. C-N is fighting through injuries and attrition at the point guard spot. Sophomore Ashley Kyle missed Wednesday's game with Brevard, and is questionable for Saturday. The Lady Eagles have gone to a "platoon" approach at point guard in her absence, rotating as many as five players into the position. With a pair of road games to close out the regular season, the Lady Eagles need a home win to keep their half-game lead for third place in the SAC race. Newberry, at 6-6 in the SAC, is a half-game behind the Lady Eagles, with Mars Hill in fifth place at 5-7. The top four teams host in the first round of the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament, which begins March 5. A pair of Lady Eagles will play their final regular-season home game on Saturday night. Mason and fellow-post Tashea Ledbetter (Charlotte, N.C.) will both be honored.
