JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Carson-Newman Lady Eagles improved to 3-0 in South Atlantic Conference play with a 7-1 win over visiting Wingate on Tuesday afternoon in Jefferson City. The Lady Eagles swept all three doubles points to build a 3-0 lead. The doubles tandem of Cassie Moulton (Maryville, Tenn.) and Elizabeth Sneed (Kingsport, Tenn.) led the way with an 8-1 at #2. Moulton (#5), Sneed (#3), Taryn Cappadonna (#2, Kennesaw, Ga.), and Amanda Bartlett (#1, Powder Springa, Ga.) all won in singles. Freshman Stephanie Douglas led 6-4, 3-0 before her match was called due to rain. Carson-Newman improves to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the SAC. The Lady Eagles return to action on April 2 when they face Lenior-Rhyne in Hickory, N.C.
