The Ferris State University men's ice hockey team will celebrate its many accomplishments of the 2007-08 season at the program's post-season awards banquet to be held Friday, April 5, at the Falcon Head Golf Club in Big Rapids, Mich. The annual event is sponsored by the FSU Blueline Club.

The banquet will recognize the 27 student-athletes on the 2007-08 team along with featuring video highlights from the 2007-08 season, presentation of various team and individual awards, and comments about the season from Ferris State head coach Bob Daniels. A popular highlight of the banquet will be speeches given by the Bulldogs' seven graduating seniors - assistant captain Matt Frank (Billings, Mont.), Jim Jorgensen (Sault Ste. Marie), Derek MacInytre (Stanwood), Adam Miller (Livonia), Mitch O'Keefe (Almonte, Ontario), assistant captain Alex Spezia (Farmington Hills), and captain Adam Welch (Hastings, Minn.).

The banquet will start with a social from 6-6:30 p.m. (EDT) in which those attending may interact with the coaching staff and players. The social will be followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. (EDT) with the awards portion of the program scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. (EDT).

Cost for the awards banquet is $20 per person and $10 for children under age 12.

Ferris State concluded the 2007-08 campaign at 18-16-5 overall with a fifth-place 12-12-4 mark (28 points) in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA). The Bulldogs' 18 victories and fifth-place league finish are the most since the 2002-03 season when the FSU went 31-10-1 overall and captured the program's first-ever CCHA regular-season title with a first-place 22-5-1 CCHA ledger.
