At Farmington Hills, Mich., Boston College's Joe Whitney found the back of the net at 12:12 of overtime to earn a 4-3 win over Miami in the NCAA Northeast Regional final in Worcester, Mass.

The RedHawks held a 2-0 lead in the second period with goals from sophomore Jarod Palmer and senior Nino Musitelli before the Eagles scored three unanswered tallies off the sticks of Nick Petrecki, Nathan Gerbe and Ben Smith.

Miami senior captain Ryan Jones tied the game at 9:02 of the final frame on his 31st goal of the season, with the assist going to freshman Carter Camper. Junior goaltender Jeff Zatkoff made 38 saves for the RedHawks, while John Muse made 34 saves for Boston College.
