MBB: Ten in a Row! Swords Take Down `Lopes 66-63.

Phoenix, AZ- Another Pac West Conference battle. Another Chaminade victory. Grand Canyon was ready and fought all the way. The `Lopes led most of the second half, before a Marko Kolaric bucket gave Chaminade a 61-60 lead they would never relinquish. Chaminade was led by Kolaric with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Rodrick Johnson added 10 points, none bigger than the final two (two free throws with 2.4 seconds left) to extend the lead to three, 66-63. Ty Morrison's half court shot missed after the buzzer and Chaminade left Phoenix with their second victory in as many days. Hayden Heiber added 8 points, 12 assists, 6 rebounds and 3 steals in the win. Mike Green had 11 points, including three three's. Ty Morrison led Grand Canyon with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Chaminade moves to 14-4 overall and 9-0 in conference play. Grand Canyon falls to 10-8, 5-6 in conference play. The Swords are back home in McCabe Gym on Wednesday, January 30th at 7:30 PM HT. Chaminade will face cross-town rival HPU.
