Chaminade Handles HPU 86-56
Feb. 2, 2007 Honolulu, HI- In the first of three meetings with cross-town rivals, Chaminade came out and took control of the game and never relinquished it. The Swords opened the game on a 24-2 run and led the entire 40 minutes. Chaminade went off from three, shooting 48% from the arc (15 three's) and 54% from the field. Hawaii Pacific managed to make just 33% of its shots as Chaminade defended well throughout. Zack Whiting just missed another triple-double with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists, while Hayden Heiber had a career-high 19 points on 7-9 shooting and 5-6 from the arc. Stewart Kussler added 11 points, while Mike Green and James Francisco each added 10 points in the win. Marko Kolaric added 11 rebounds in the win. The Swords out rebounded the SeaWarriors 36-31. HPU was led by Logan Wolf with 11 points. Chaminade improves to 13-7 overall and 5-3 in conference play. Hawaii Pacific falls to 7-12, 1-7 in conference. Chaminade heads to Laie, HI on Saturday, February 3rd for a match-up with conference leader, BYU-Hawaii. Game time is set for 7:30PM.
