Chaminade Men's Basketball Topples UH-Hilo 76-60

Hilo, HI- In a battle for third place in the PacWest conference, Chaminade defeated UH-Hilo 76-60 at the UH-Hilo Campus Gym. The Swords took the lead with fifteen minutes to go in the first half and never relinquished it in the sixteen point victory. The Swords went up 32-21 on a Hayden Heiber three with seven minutes remaining in the first half and led by double digits the remainder of the contest. Chaminade shot 45% from the floor while holding the Vulcans to just 35% from the field. The Swords also out-rebounded UH-Hilo 45-35 on the evening. Senior All-American candidate Zack Whiting led all scorers with 26 points. Hayden Heiber added 15 points, while Stewart Kussler added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the win. Daryl Harris led the Vulcans with 17 points in defeat. Chaminade concludes regular season play at 16-11 and 8-7 in the PacWest conference. UH-Hilo finishes at 9-18.
