Chaminade Fights Off Hot-Shooting Holy Names 91-76

Honolulu, HI- Chaminade playing its third game of the week, found a hot-shooting Holy Names squad waiting as their opponent this Sunday afternoon at McCabe Gym in a 91-76 victory.

The Hawks, fresh off a 76-63 win over HPU, came out on fire in the first half, hitting 10 of 16 attempts from three, but it wasn't enough as Chaminade went up 47-40 at intermission, shooting 53% from the floor.

Holy Names continued its hot shooting, knocking down 13-20 threes, good for 65% with eight minutes remaining in the contest. The game was all Chaminade from there, as All-American candidate Zack Whiting collected another triple-double with 24 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds on the evening. Marko Kolaric controlled the paint, adding 20 points to go along with 12 rebounds on 9-11 shooting. Mike Green added 17 points to go along with 5 assists.

CUH out-rebounded Holy Names 40-23 on the evening. For the game, Holy Names connected on 15 of 27 threes for 56% percent. Marshall Hartman led the Hawks with 21 points and Troy Cotton added 17 in defeat. Julius Cumlat added 12 assists.

The Swords improve to 3-3 on the year, while Holy Names falls to 3-8. Chaminade heads on the road next week to play Cal State Monterey Bay and Sonoma State. Monterey Bay is up first on Friday, December 8th at 1:30 PM. The game will be played at Sonoma State.
