Phoenix, AZ- With league play about to start, two-time First Team Pac West Conference Selection Zack Whiting is already collecting league awards.

The senior point guard scored 70 points, averaging 35.0 points per game over two games this past week, good enough to earn Pac West Player of the Week honors for the third time this year. Whiting shot 84.0% from the field, making 21 of 25 field goal attempts and was 4 for 4 from beyond the three-point line. The 6'3 senior averaged 10.5 rebounds per game and totaled 21 rebounds. The Chico, CA native averaged 12.5 assists by totaling 25 over the two games. Whiting was no slouch defensively, picking opponents pockets for 3.5 steals a game.

Chaminade defeated highly regarded Indianapolis 87-71, who had recently defeated #2 ranked Southern Indiana, as well as CUH league rival HPU. The Swords also defeated SUNY New Paltz 101-86.

It was also announced that Whiting was the Pac West Player of the Week for Nov 27-Dec 3 as well as the following week, Dec 4-10.

Whiting is currently a 2006-07 NABC Bob Cousy Award nominee, a 2005-06 Daktronics All-West Region selection and a two-time Pac West First Team selection. Whiting also added an MVP award to his trophy case at the 2006 Ron Logsdon Classic hosted by Sonoma State (CA).
