Chaminade Men's Basketball #8 In First NCAA West Region Poll
Jan. 25, 2007 Honolulu, HI- In the first NCAA West Region poll released yesterday, Chaminade sits in the eighth position, with the top eight schools going to the NCAA Regional tournament, hosted at the top ranked school at the conclusion of the regular season. Currently, there are three CCAA schools, three GNAC schools and two Pac West Conference members in the top eight spots. Leading the way in the top two are Cal State San Bernardino followed by Cal Poly Pomona. Seattle Pacific and Humboldt State round out the top half of the ranking. Two GNAC schools, Alaska Anchorage and Seattle are positioned at five and six, while BYU-Hawaii and Chaminade are in the seventh and eighth spots respectively. The Swords are currently 12-7 overall and 4-3 in Pac West Conference play. Chaminade is next in action against cross-town rival HPU on February 1st. Game time is set for 7:30 PM in McCabe Gym and will be televised by OC16.
