Chaminade's All-American Point Guard Zack Whiting Off to Leverkusen

Leverkusen, Germany- According to numerous sources, Zack Whiting signed with BBL club Bayer Giants Leverkusen for the upcoming season. Whiting comes from NCAA Division II school Chaminade University, where he averaged 20.7ppg, 10.7apg and 7.1rpg last season. In 2006-07, Whiting had nineteen double-doubles and six triple doubles. The point guard led the well-known EA Sports Maui Invitational in assists two years in a row.

Whiting is a three time Pac West First Team Selection, the conference's 2006-07 player of the year, the nation's leader in assists regardless of division, and a Daktronics All West Region selection and All-American selection. The point guard also received an invitation to the NABC Division II All-Star game, and was a Bob Cousy Award finalist, awarded to the nations top point guard.
