Chaminade Men's Soccer Falls to Menlo 1-0

Atherton, CA- In a game that was deadlocked for 78 minutes, Menlo's David Alcaraz scored the game winner off a corner kick to give the Oaks the 1-0 win.

Chaminade played tough all match long, putting four shots on goal, just missing an opportunity to even the contest up.

Darren Smith made seven saves on the afternoon for CUH. The game was physical throughout, with five yellow cards given on the day, three to Menlo and two to the Swords.

Jason Gomez led CUH with 3 shots. Goalkeeper Brandon Evangelista led Menlo with 4 saves, while Oswaldo Rodriguez had 4 shots and 1 assist on the day.

Chaminade falls to 0-6-1, while the Oaks improve to 3-3 on the year. The Swords head to Belmont, CA next to face NDNU (3-4) on September 18th. The match opens PacWest conference play for Chaminade. Game time is set for 4pm.
