WBB: Silverswords Lose to HPU

Honolulu, HI- The Silverswords took on cross town rival Hawaii Pacific University and ended up losing the game by thirteen points. However, CUH only trailed the Sea Warriors at halftime by a margin of 4 points; the score at the break was CUH 29 and HPU 33. The final score was Chaminade 65 and Hawaii Pacific 78. Chaminade was led by seniors Marian Murphy and Simrin Herington, formerly Miss Simrin Cummins. Combined the two scored 31 of the 65 posted points for the Silverswords; Murphy scored 17 points, she was 5 for 9 from behind the arc and Herington scored 14. Freshman Caitlin Prager scored 7 points and grabbed 10 boards with the loss. The SIlverswords out rebounded the Sea Warriors by a margin of 4, they had 34 to HPU's 30. HPU was led by Ashley Jenkins who scored 23 points, she also had 2 boards. With the loss, the Silverswords fall to 0-18, 0-11 in the Pac West and Hawaii Pacific University improves to 5-15 and 5-6 in the Pac West conference. The next game for CUH is on February 6th against BYU Hawaii, tip off is set for 5:30PM
