Feb. 24, 2008

Laie, HI- Sir Winston Churchill once said, " Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." Chaminade played one of their best games of the year tonight when they took on the Seasiders of BYU Hawaii, they lost by only 6 points, losing 78 to 72.

Senior Katherine Carlisle scored a team 20 points for Chaminade, she had 3 rebounds and went 5 for 7 from the free throw line. Chaminade as a team shot 70% from the charity line in tonight's close battle with BYU Hawaii. Sophomore point guard Samantha Saito was the second leading scorer for the Silverswords with 16 points and 6 assists.

Katherine Carlisle said about tonight's game, "Tonight was a great team basketball, we came out and played a hard 40 minutes. Which we haven't done all year, we are going to be keep fighting until the end."

Samantha Saito said about the game, " Tonight's game was a close one, it hurts to lose but it was a hard fought battle to the end. We are looking forward to this two game road trip coming up and ready to get a win!" Despite losing the game by only 6 points, CUH got out rebounded by a large margin, 50 to 32. Chaminade shot 44% on the night while the Seasiders shot 38% from the floor. The turnover battle was pretty consistent on both sides, the Silverswords had 23 to the Seasiders 22.
