WSB: Conclude Season Against HPU Losing Both Games

Kaneohoe, HI- Chaminade concluded their season tonight against the Sea Warriors of Hawaii Pacific University, losing the first game 5 to 4 and the second game 7 to 0. The first game was really close heading into the bottom of the seventh inning it was CUH 4 HPU 3. Chaminade played their best softball tonight in the first game, they batted 300 as a team going 10 for 30 against HPU's best pitcher Courtney Kessell, she improved her impressive year recording her 20th win of the season. Chaminade's freshman pitcher, Chelsi Walls is charged with the loss. She concludes her impressive campaign with a record of 8 wins and 14 losses. The Silverswords hit the ball well tonight; junior Brandi Sasaki went 3 for 4 and hit a homerun top of the 7th inning to put CUH up heading into the last inning of play. Anina Quaranto and Carolyn Fisher both batted 500 tonight going 2 for 4. Carolyn Fisher and Brandi Sasaki both had 2 RBI's in the loss. Chaminade headed into the second game with the hopes keeping their momentum from the first game, however Hawaii Pacific University who is ranked # 1 in the Pacific West Conference dominated from the first pitch. Scoring 5 runs in the first three innings of play. Freshman Kasy'e Lalau is charged with loss, she concludes her freshman campaign with a record of 2 and 12. The future from Chaminade looks bright, despite losing most of their starting infield. Chaminade loses four seniors to graduation, Anina Quaranto, Carolyn Fisher, Iwalani Yamaguchi and Valerie De Los Santos. The Silverswords conclude the 2008 season with a record of 12 wins and 32 loses; CUH looks to build on this year's record and only time will tell how they fair in the Pacific West Conference in the upcoming years.
