MEMPHIS--The Christian Brothers University Bucs rolled to a three-game sweep of Robert Morris-Springfield this weekend, winning 9-0 twice and 9-3 once.

Senior right-hander John Daush (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) threw a six-hit shutout in Saturday's nine-inning single game, allowing just two walks.

The Bucs (6-4) scored all they would need with two outs in the bottom of the second inning as Mark Foster (Cordova, Tenn./Cordova HS) hit an RBI double, followed by a two-run single by Andrew Griffy (Arlington, Tenn./Bolton HS) to put the Bucs up 3-0. Griffy finished the game 4-for-4 with three RBI. Rocky Escajadillo (Cordova, Tenn./Cordova HS) went 3-for-5.

In Sunday's first game, Foster blasted his first career grand slam in the bottom of the second inning, pushing CBU's lead to 5-0. Griffy tacked on a two-run double an inning later to make it 7-0, and the Bucs coasted to a 9-3 margin. Foster went 3-for-4 with two runs and four RBI, while Joseph Kaminski (Sherwood, Ark./Little Rock Catholic HS) and Alvino Ramirez (Las Vegas, Nev./Centennial HS) added two hits each. Ben Chism (Nesbit, Miss./De Soto Central HS) earned the win as he allowed two runs in three innings of relief.

In the final game of the series, Anthony Apro (Lexington, Ky./West Jessamine HS) and Steven Thomas (Bartlett, Tenn./Bartlett HS) combined for a five-hit shutout as the Bucs rolled to another 9-0 win. Apro allowed five hits and two walks in six innings, while Thomas finished the victory with a perfect ninth.

The Bucs took control of the game in the third inning. After back-to-back singles to start the inning, Griffy doubled to center to score a run. Josh Shelton (Rosemark, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) hit a sacrifice fly, then Kaminski homered to right-center to put the Bucs up 4-0. Bobby Lawrence (Germantown, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) drove in a run on a single in the fourth to make it 5-0, and he hit a three-run double in the fifth to provide the final 9-0 margin. Lawrence finished 3-for-3 with four RBI in the game, while Griffy and Will Britt (Oxford, Miss./Oxford HS) had two hits each.

The Bucs will be back in action Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. as they host Bethel.
