MEMPHIS--Christian Brothers University juniors Michelle Paul (Arlington, Texas/Mansfield Summit HS) and Dave Delugach (Hernando, Miss./Memphis University School) have been voted to the Academic All-Gulf South Conference West Division Team for softball and baseball, respectively.

Paul, who hit .200 in 35 games at catcher for the Lady Bucs this year, has a 3.84 GPA in biomedical science. She has been named to the GSC Academic Honor Roll three straight years, while this is her first Academic All-GSC honor.

Delugach went 3-6 with a 9.40 ERA in 15 appearances on the mound for the Bucs, tossing one complete game. In the classroom, Delugach has a 3.87 GPA in business administration. Delugach is also a first-time Academic All-GSC pick.

The Academic All-GSC Teams are voted on by the Sports Information Directors and Faculty Athletic Representatives of the GSC's schools. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA and be a key contributor to their team. Freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible.

CBU placed 35 student-athletes on the GSC Academic Honor Roll in the spring, tied with West Florida for fifth-most in the conference. The baseball team led the way with 14 Academic Honor Roll players, while the softball team added seven. The men's golf and tennis teams placed four each, while the women's golf and tennis teams added three each.

The Academic Honor Roll recognizes all student-athletes with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA who appeared in at least one event during their season.

For the school year as a whole, CBU placed 86 of its 179 student-athletes on the Academic Honor Roll, including nine named to their sports' All-Academic Teams.
