Kohs Repeats As GSC West Player of the Week

March 3, 2008

MEMPHIS--Christian Brothers University junior center Nick Kohs (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota East HS) has been named the Gulf South Conference West Division Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.

Kohs led the way as the Bucs (19-9, 10-4 GSC West) won 59-55 at Arkansas-Monticello and 70-56 at home against Harding, winning a share of their first-ever Gulf South Conference West Division Championship as they finished in a three-way tie for first with Harding and Ouachita Baptist.

Kohs scored 14 points with six rebounds in the win at UAM, and he posted his GSC-best 15th double-double with a 19-point, 14-rebound night against Harding.

The GSC West Player of the Week award is the third of the season for Kohs and the fourth of his career.

Kohs and the Bucs, seeded second, will return to the court Friday night as they face West Georgia, seeded third from the GSC East, in the quarterfinals of the GSC Tournament. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven.

The Bucs and Wolves will be meeting for the third time this season after never playing before Dec. 1. UWG won 84-79 in overtime in Carrollton in December, while the Bucs won 80-77 at Canale Arena Jan. 7.
