Final Stats

DECATUR, Ala.--No. 20 Valdosta State clubbed four homers on their way to a 12-5 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs in the final game of the Gulf South Conference Crossover in Decatur, Ala.

The Lady Blazers (40-9, 14-3 GSC) scored two runs in the first and four more in the second as they built a commanding 6-0 lead early.

The Lady Bucs (14-24, 1-19) struck back with two in the bottom of the second on a two-out, two-run single by Lauren Hearn (Millington, Tenn./Millington HS).

But VSU wasn't finished yet, scoring three more in the third and three in the seventh to extend the lead to 12-2 before a three-run Paige Wright (Southaven, Miss./Southaven HS) homer in the bottom of the seventh provided the final margin.

The Lady Bucs will be back in action Wednesday afternoon when they visit Southern Arkansas at 2 p.m.
