ARKADELPHIA, Ark.--The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs finished their season with a split in their Gulf South Conference doubleheader at Ouachita Baptist Saturday afternoon, winning the season finale 5-4 after dropping game one 3-2.

The Lady Bucs (18-28, 5-23 GSC) used a five-run fourth inning to earn the victory in the second game. Casey King (Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound HS) led off with a single, and Sammy Maness (Gallatin, Tenn./Gallatin HS) hit a one-out single. Nikki Dunn (Southaven, Miss./Southaven HS) and Victoria Mathews (Arlington, Texas/Mansfield Timberview HS) added RBI singles later in the inning, as two walks and two errors also helped the Lady Bucs bat around in the inning.

Kallie McFatter (Mansfield, Texas/Summit HS) earned the win, allowing four runs in 5.1 innings. Dunn retired the last five batters, picking up her third save.

King went 2-for-3 for the Lady Bucs.

In the first game, OBU (24-32, 11-18) built a 3-0 lead on a pair of homers and held on for the 3-2 victory. OBU's Emily Matthews hit a leadoff homer in the second inning, and Haley Chambers hit a two-run bomb an inning later.

The Lady Bucs finally scored in the sixth. Kathleen Nelson (Bartlett, Tenn./Bolton HS) reached on a one-out walk, and Mathews and Paige Wright (Southaven, Miss./Southaven HS) followed with singles to score Nelson. Mathews came home on a bases-loaded walk by Maness, but OBU's Kristen Rigsbee pitched her way out of the jam and finished off the win with a scoreless seventh.

The Lady Bucs finish the season 18-28, including a 5-23 record in GSC play. The Lady Bucs graduate three seniors: Maness, Wright, and Lauren Hearn (Millington, Tenn./Millington HS).
