MEMPHIS--Gulf South Conference West Division softball coaches have voted Christian Brothers University junior pitcher Nikki Dunn (Southaven, Miss./Southaven HS) to the Preseason All-GSC West Team.

Dunn was voted the GSC West Co-Pitcher of the Year last season when she went 12-12 with five shutouts, a 2.42 ERA, and 222 strikeouts in 161.2 innings. She was also a first-team All-GSC West pick as a freshman, when she went 13-16 with eight shutouts, a 2.21 ERA, and 242 strikeouts in 196.1 innings.

The coaches picked Arkansas-Monticello to win the West Division and Alabama-Huntsville to take the overall GSC crown. UAM received 35 of a possible 36 votes in the west, followed by Delta State (31), Henderson State (23), and Southern Arkansas (20) in the top four. Ouachita Baptist (19), Arkansas Tech (13), and CBU (6) round out the coaches' projected finish.

The Lady Bucs will open their season with 18 straight road games, beginning with a doubleheader at Freed-Hardeman Feb. 16 at noon. CBU's hope opener is scheduled for March 8 against Delta State.
