(Hummelstown, Pa.): IUP won the 52nd Annual PSAC Golf Championship on Sunday as the Crimson Hawks shot a two-day total of 606 (301, 305) at the par 72 Wren Dale Golf Club in Hummelstown, Pa.

Clarion, who was second after the first day of play with a 309, ended up fourth with a second round of 313 and a two day total of 622.

The overall team championship saw IUP first with a 606, California's Women second at 614 (313, 301), Millersville third at 621 (323, 298), Clarion fourth at 622, West Chester fifth with a 636 (324, 312), California sixth with a 641 (325, 316), Kutztown's women seventh at 663 (344, 319) and West Chester eighth at 787 (399, 388).

IUP's Gavin Smith was the individual medalist with a three under par 141 (68, 73), while Cal's Simone DeSouza was second with a 146 (74, 72) and Cal's Matt Gribschaw third with a 148.

Clarion had two all-PSAC players in Jared Schmader (Fr. Cooperstown/ Maplewood) and Preston Mullens (Sr. Punsutawney) who shot a score of 155. Schmader shot a 79, 76, while Mullens had a 71 on Saturday and an 84 today.

Teammates Nick Sanner (So. Markleton/Rockwood) and Justin Moose (Sr. N. Huntingdon/Norwin) finished 14th with totals of 156. Sanner shot 80, 76 and Moose came in at 79, 77.

Also playing for the Golden Eagles was Mike DeAngelo (So. New Castle/Shenango) who was 31st with an 87, 89, 176.

CLARION NOTES: The Golden Eagles are finished now in the Fall season and still appear to be in good shape heading to the Spring and a potential for a seventh straight NCAA Div. II Regional berth... The Golden Eagles won three invitationals this fall, plus were second at Wheeling Jesuit and Robert Morris.
