Clarion (14-6 overall, 4-2 PSAC-West), winners of four straight, saw its lead cut to 28-19 following an Amanda Nero basket for Slippery Rock (7-14, 1-5) with 6:31 left in the first half but held "The Rock" scoreless in the last six-and-a-half minutes of the half while exploding for 10 minutes itself in the final 2:44 including four from Sara Pratt to take a 38-19 halftime lead.

The Golden Eagles then upped the lead to 25 points, 48-23, when they started the second half on a 10-4 run.

Clarion then started subbing with around seven or eight minutes left, and the lead held between 15 and 22 the rest of the way.

NOTES - Clarion's win coupled with Edinboro's upset victory at California puts the Golden Eagles into a tie for second place in the PSAC-West with the Vulcans, who visit Tippin Gym for a 5:30 p.m. game Saturday. Saturday is Clarion's "Take a Kid to the Game" night. All fans 14 and under get in free. Clarion is also just a game back of IUP for the PSAC-West lead. IUP comes to Clarion next Wednesday.
