Clemson, SC - The men's track & field program will host over 20 schools on Friday and Saturday for the Clemson Relays, the first meet of the outdoor season. Some of the notables include regional foe Georgia as well as Big Ten schools Minnesota and Wisconsin, presumably enjoying the spring break weather in the Southeast.
Friday's action gets underway with a decathlon beginning at 12:00 PM. Miller Moss, an impact performer as a red-shirt freshman at the ACC level, leads the Clemson contingency in the competition. Mike Feathers and Joey O'Rourke are also entered. The first decathlon event will be the 100m dash at noon. The long jump, high jump, shot put, and 400m will also take place Friday. In other action Friday, the men's 3000m steeplechase and 10,000m distance events will be held. Clemson will not have an entry in those events, however.
Travis Padgett, an NCAA All-American last week in the 60m dash, leads the Tiger entries in Saturday action. He will compete in the 100m dash at 1:45 PM, along with Corey Brown and Gwantaveus Anderson.
Clemson will see plenty of action Saturday in the hurdles, beginning with Brandon Carter in both the 110m and 400m hurdles and Andrew Porter and Travis Swaggard in the 400m variety. The high hurdles will be held at
12:15 PM, while the intermediate hurdles are scheduled for 2:50 PM.
