Tiger Rowing Successful at Day Two of San Diego Crew Classic
 

 
 
 

 
Jessica Leidecker and the Varsity 8+ crew came in first place in the petite finals at the San Diego Crew Classic on Sunday.

San Diego, CA - The Clemson rowing team had a strong showing at the second day of the San Diego Crew Classic, with both the Varsity 8+ and Novice 8+ teams coming in first place in their respective races.

The Varsity 8+ crew finished first in the petite finals on Sunday morning with a time of 6:27.9, defeating crews from Louisville and Purdue. The victorious crew consisted of Elyse Roenick (coxswain), Jessica Leidecker, Hilary Cumbest, Catie Cornett, Suzanne Van Fleet, Liz Robb, Megan Bendik, Ford Heiner, and Michelle Nance.

After a third place finish in their heat yesterday, the Second Varsity 8+ crew went on to compete in the grand final today. The Tigers finished in fourth place with a time of 6:42.75 behind crews from Washington, USC, and Washington State.

On Saturday night, the Novice 8+ crew finished first in the petite finals with a time of 7:06.8. The winning crew consisted of Victoria Graham (coxswain), Corey Geer, Emily Forney, Sarah Daanen, Leah Kelly, Grace Wolff, Paige Griffith, Kelsey Hudome, and Mitchel Robinson.
 

 

The Tigers will return to action when they host the ACC Championships on April 19th on Lake Hartwell.
