Player Profile
Position:
Assistant Coach

Kristen Weiss is in her first season as an assistant coach with the Clemson women's soccer program. She serves as the team travel coordinator and is the coordinator and assistant director for Clemson's women's soccer camps. Weiss works primarily with the forwards and midfielders along with all areas of team and individual practice sessions.

"Kristen is already proving herself to be a very good coach and outstanding role model for our players," said Head Coach Hershey Strosberg. "Having all of the various experiences during her time at Virginia will serve her well in her role at Clemson. I'm thrilled that she decided to come start her coaching career here."

Weiss spent the 2007 season working at her alma mater as an administrative assistant with the University of Virginia women's soccer program, where Strosberg was an assistant coach. During this time, Weiss assisted in on-campus visits with prospective student-athletes and their families. She was responsible for planning and organizing alumni events and team banquets and assisted with the planning, preparation and instruction at Virginia soccer camps. She also maintained the program's compliance reports in accordance with NCAA rules and regulations.

Weiss served as an assistant coach for the U-14 and U-16 girls' teams with the Soccer Organization of Charlottesville-Albemarle in 2007. She has been an instructor at several youth soccer camps, including the University of Virginia, Christopher Newport University and Bowdoin College. She holds a USSF National "D" Coaching License.

Weiss played for Virginia from 2002-06, scoring 10 goals and 11 assists for her career. She was named to the ACC All-Tournament team in 2004, the year that the Cavaliers won their first conference title in school history. Weiss competed for the full United States National Team in 2001 and was also a member of the U-16, U-17 and U-19 Women's National Teams.

"I am grateful for this opportunity and for the challenge that lies ahead," said Weiss. "I want to thank Hershey Strosberg, the Clemson administration and the community for accepting me into the Tiger family. I am excited to be here and look forward to building on Clemson's tradition of excellence."
