CLEMSON, SC - The Clemson women's tennis team will be back in action this weekend after a two-week layoff. The Tigers will travel to Chapel Hill and Durham for contests against league foes North Carolina and Duke. Clemson (5-8, 1-2 ACC) is slated for a 1:00 pm match versus the 13th-ranked Tar Heels (11-4, 2-0 ACC) at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center on Saturday and will then face the #9 Blue Devils (9-1, 2-0 ACC) at 3:00 pm on Sunday from the Ambler Tennis Stadium.

The Tigers are led by sophomore Ani Mijacika, who is ranked #_ in the most recent Fila/ITA Tennis singles poll. The native of Makarska, Croatia will be going for her 20th win of the 2007-08 season as she currently owns a 19-5 overall record. The figure includes a 12-4 mark against ranked opponents, while a win would give Mijacika two straight 20-win seasons. She was 25-7 last year.

Clemson vs. North Carolina, The Series
The Tigers have won the last seven meetings with the Tar Heels and own a 34-12 all-time lead in the series score. Clemson defeated North Carolina, 6-1, at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center last year and also won a 4-3 battle in Chapel Hill during the 2006 season to improve to 11-3 on the Tar Heels' home court.

Clemson vs. Duke, The Series
Clemson trails the Blue Devils, 23-16, in a series that dates back to 1978. Duke also holds a 9-6 edge in matches played on its home court, but the Tigers won the last meeting between the two schools by a 4-3 margin during the 2007 season. Clemson last defeated the Blue Devils in Durham in 2004, winning a 5-2 decision.
