Chapel Hill, NC - The women's track & field team concluded its Friday portion of the Carolina Classic late in the evening. Patricia Mamona and April Sinkler performed well in the triple jump to lead the Lady Tigers' efforts on day one of competition. The meet will conclude Saturday at UNC's Eddie Smith Field House.

Mamona competed in the higher-seeded section of the triple jump and finished third. Her mark was 41'2.25", best among collegians in the upper division. Sinkler won the second section of the triple jump with a mark of 39'10". Her mark was just shy of a season best in the event. Nakeisha Wineglass was seventh (37'10").

Christina Mason led the way in the quarter mile for Clemson. The freshman had a time of 59.55, finishing 19th in the field of 68 sprinters. Michaylin Golladay (59.79) was 25th overall.

Rochelle Kokayko and Catheryne Porter finished third and fourth, respectively, in the weight throw invitational. Kokayko recorded a top distance of 52'8", a season-best for the junior native of Canada. Porter was right behind with a mark of 52'0.5", also a season-best in the event for the senior.

The 60m hurdles will be Clemson's first event Saturday morning at 10:40 AM.
