CLEMSON, SC - The Clemson volleyball team has been invited to participate in the 2008 CSTV Collegiate Beach Nationals as part of its spring competition schedule. The tournament features duos from the nation's top indoor volleyball teams and will be held in San Diego, CA on Apr. 20.
The Tigers will be matched against teams from 2007 National Champion Nebraska, Texas, Southern California and Wisconsin, with one final team still to be determined.
Collegiate Nationals is a festival of epic championships that displays the growing passion for lifestyle sports at the collegiate level. Taking place over four weekends this spring, the competition will crown over 40 champions by its conclusion. More than 1,000 collegiate athletes from around the country will vie for titles in sports ranging from snowboarding to beach volleyball to wakeboarding.
Now in its third year, the Collegiate Nationals will hold events in the following four locations:
* Keystone, CO
* Reno, NV
* San Diego, CA
* Boulder, CO
As part of the trip, the Tigers will also take on the University of San Diego on Thursday, Apr. 17. Clemson's spring schedule also includes matches at Winthrop on Mar. 12 and against the College of Charleston and Middle Tennessee at Jervey Gym on Apr. 12.
