CLEMSON, SC - The Clemson volleyball team will in action on Saturday for the first and only time at Jervey Gym this spring season. The Tigers will welcome the College of Charleston and Middle Tennessee State for a six-match tournament with each team playing four times.

Clemson will open the day's action against the Blue Raiders at 9:00 am and will then take on the Cougars at 10:30 am. The Tigers will then face Middle Tennessee State against at 1:30 pm and conclude their day against the College of Charleston at 3:00 pm.

Head Coach Jolene Jordan Hoover returns five starters from the 2007 ACC Champion and NCAA Tournament team, including two-time Honorable Mention AVCA All-American Danielle Hepburn. Hepburn holds the school record for hitting percentage (.342) and blocks per game (1.46) over a career and ranks third with 417 block assists through her junior season.

Rising juniors Didem Ege and Kelsey Murphy also earned AVCA All-America Honorable Mention selections last season. Ege set a Tiger record with a 5.39 digs per game average and her 615 defensive saves ranked second in school history. Murphy, a setter from New Lenox, IL, led Clemson to its second-highest team hitting percentage of all-time at .272 in 2007.

Entering her senior campaign is outside hitter and three-year starter Jeannette Abbott. Abbott was a second-team All-ACC selection in 2007 and is listed eighth in the Clemson annuals with 1,420 career kills. Lia Proctor, a rising junior, also returns as a two-year starter on the left side. The native of Inman, SC tallied 315 kills last season.
 

 

Rising sophomores Meghan Hinemeyer and Cansu Ozdemir will also be participating on Saturday, along with middle Lisa Jedlicka, who red-shirted the 2007 season.

12:00 pm - College of Charleston vs. Middle Tennessee State
1:30 pm - Clemson vs. Middle Tennessee State
3:00 pm - Clemson vs. College of Charleston
4:30 pm - College of Charleston vs. Middle Tennessee State
