SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Cleveland State fencing teams completed the regular season portion of their schedule by competing at the Notre Dame Duals over the weekend. The men's team posted a 7-2 mark and improved to 21-13 this season, while the women went 1-7-1 and concluded the regular season at 10-24-1. "This was a good way for us to end the regular season against some very quality teams," head coach Jim Sager said. "We will have a week off before returning to action at the conference championships. That is what we have been aiming for all year in an attempt to get some athletes qualified for nationals." Liran Gross led the men's squad by tallying a 21-3 mark with the foil at Notre Dame and improved to 81-16 overall this season. Jeff Tormey was 18-5 with the epee. Brooke Snyder (epee), Courtney Zemkosky (epee) and Hannah Sims (sabre) led the women's squad. Both teams will be out of action until Feb. 23-24 when they compete at the Midwest Fencing Conference Championships in South Bend, Ind. COMPLETE MEN'S RESULTS COMPLETE WOMEN'S RESULTS |
