EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Cleveland State had its four-game win streak snapped as North Dakota State handed the Vikings a 5-3 setback on Sunday in the final day of the Dunn Hospitality Diamond Classic at Braun Stadium on Saturday afternoon. "We didn't play our best baseball team today and made some errors that really cost us," head coach Kevin Kocks said. "We'll iron some things out and get ready for our four games this week. CSU scored two runs in the first, but the Bison responded with single runs in the first and second innings to knot the score at 2-2. After the Vikings took a 3-2 lead in the top of the fourth, NDSU responded with three runs in the bottom of the fourth which proved to be the final runs of the game. CSU pounded out eight hits with Brad Buell finishing 3-for-4 with two runs. Kyle Bischof drove in the lone run for the Vikings and also scored once. Sam Suitca (1-3) took the loss for CSU. He went 3.2 innings, allowing five runs (two earned) on eight hits. CSU will return to action on Tuesday (March 18) when the Vikings travel to Duquesne for a 2:00 p.m. contest. |
