CSU Defeats St. Francis, 7-0
Feb. 9, 2008 Contact: Jessica Gerich CLEVELAND, Ohio - CSU swept both the doubles and singles competition to pick up their fifth consecutive win in a match against St Francis (PA). The victory puts the Vikings at 6-2 on the season. Sophomore Phil Orno and freshman Chris Klepatz have each won four straight matches. Orno defeated Jeffrey Seevers 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles while Klepatz defeated Andrei Sandu 6-2, 6-7 (4), 10-8 at No. 2 singles. Junior Rob West won 6-1, 6-2 over Stephen Kowalski at No. 3 singles and junior Steven Wipprecht picked up his first victory of the season defeating Kyle Primeau 6-0, 6-3 at No. 6 singles. "It was nice to get some other players in the lineup today," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "Chris kept his focus in the only three-set match of the game and Steve played well in the singles lineup. Aris picked up a win in his doubles debut. We played efficient tennis and it has been a nice breather from the last few close 4-3 matches." The Vikings are idle this week.
