2008-09 Schedule to Take Titans Far and Wide

July 17, 2008

Fullerton, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton's recent success as a visiting men's basketball team will get a stern challenge in 2008-09 as the Titans travel far and wide in preparations for the Big West Conference slate that begins in late December.

The Titans' journey begins with an exhibition tour to British Columbia on Labor Day Weekend and by Dec. 9 the team will have visited Hawai'i, Oregon, Louisiana and Montana as well as played three games over Thanksgiving Weekend in the Anaheim Classic. Unknown until February will be their destination as a road team for the O'Reilly Auto Parts/ESPNU Bracket Buster game on Feb. 21.

Fullerton is 43-31 on the road the last four seasons under sixth-year Head Coach Bob Burton but will have an inexperienced squad this season after graduating seven players in 2008.

The home non-conference schedule consists of only five games: Nov. 6 vs. Carroll College (of Montana), Nov. 20 vs. Hope International, Dec. 6 vs. Central Michigan, Dec. 13 vs. Cal State Bakersfield and Dec. 22 against Montana State.

Highlighting the road schedule is an inaugural meeting with LSU in Baton Rouge on Dec. 2. The Titans will also face major competition in Anaheim with a tourney field consisting of Wake Forest, Arizona State, Saint Mary's, Providence, Charlotte, UTEP and Baylor. They face a fellow 2008 NCAA Tournament team when they return last year's home Bracket Buster game with Portland State.

In Canada, the Titans will play at Trinity Western University in Langley on Aug. 29, at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby on Aug. 30 and at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver on Aug. 31. They will have 10 practices beginning on Aug. 23 prior to the trip.
