Women's Basketball Hosts Inaugural 'I'll Tell 2' Event for Breast Cancer Awareness
Feb. 5, 2008
FULLERTON, CA - In conjunction with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) "Think Pink Week," which supports Breast Cancer Awareness, the Cal State Fullerton women's basketball team will host its inaugural "I'll Tell 2" game against Cal Poly on Saturday evening (Feb. 9) at 5 p.m. Fans are asked to join the teams by wearing something pink, as they promote awareness, celebrate breast cancer survivors, and encourage those fighting the disease. The event was conceived by Cal State Fullerton Associate Head Coach Marcia Foster as a community service-oriented program for Titan student-athletes designed to increase awareness of breast cancer. The goal was to reach 1,000 women before Saturday night's game. Each student-athlete who volunteered attended a brief information session where breast cancer facts and figures were presented and each was given two "promise cards" to tell two women about the importance of screening and early detection.
