WOODLAND, Calif. -
Junior outside hitter Eric Vance earned his second MPSF Player of the Week honor as he was tabbed, along with Long Beach State's Paul Lotman, conference Co-Player of the Week for his efforts against No. 5 Pepperdine last week.
Vance put down a career-high 27 kills in the five-game win (5.40 kpg) while hitting .383 to go with three aces and a pair of blocks. He also added a season-high 13 digs for his third consecutive double-double this season.
Vance also won the conference, as well as Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week, on Feb. 25. Freshman Cody Loe garnered MPSF Player of the Week honors as he was selected conference co-player of the week on Mar. 3.
By winning the player of the week award three times this season, the Matadors have had the most players honored in a season since 1995. Northridge had two players honored in both 2003 and 2006.
