2008 All-MPSF Men's Volleyball Team

Junior Eric Vance was named to the 2008 All-MPSF First Team as a school-record five Cal State Northridge players were selected to the all-conference team as announced by the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation on Friday, Apr. 18.
The 2008 Northridge team matched the 2004 team with five All-MPSF selections which is the most of any team in school history.
Vance, a junior from Camarillo, Calif., became the first Matador player since Doug English in 2003 to garner First Team accolades. Vance led Northridge during the regular season in kills (428), kills per game (4.46) and aces (49). He pounded a career-high 40 kills in the Matadors' five-set win over No. 13 Hawai'i on Mar. 25 and was a two-time MPSF Player of the Week.
Also named to the 2008 all-conference team were senior Isaac Kneubuhl (Second Team), freshman Cody Loe (Second Team), Travis Bluemling (Second Team) and sophomore Kevin McKniff (Honorable Mention).
Kneubuhl, from Pukalani, Hawai'i, ranked second on the squad in kills (309), kills per game (3.72) and aces (29) and was fifth in digs (126). Kneubuhl, the squad's primary passer, moved into the Northridge career top 10 in total attacks and digs during the 2008 season.
Bluemling, from Pittsburgh, Pa., led the Matadors in assists (1,299) while leading Northridge to a .323 team hitting percentage which was third-best in the nation. During the 2008 season, Bluemling moved into fourth-place on the Matadors' all-time assists list.
Loe, from Chatsworth, Calif., had a solid first year as the redshirt freshman averaged 3.30 kills per game while hitting .438. His regular season hitting percentage would rank eighth in single-season history at Cal State Northridge. Loe also finished second on the squad with 81 total blocks.
McKniff, from Tucson, Ariz., finished fourth on the Matadors with 233 kills while hitting a solid .413. He was the team leader in blocks with 92 (eight solo). McKniff's hitting percentage was among the top 20 in the MPSF all season.
The All-MPSF honors are the first for Kneubuhl, Bluemling, Loe and McKniff while Vance was named to Honorable Mention as a sophomore in 2007.
