July 17, 2008
By Danny Mattie FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Beginning Monday, Colorado State students will be able to purchase tickets to the Qwest Rocky Mountain Showdown, the 2008 football opener at INVESCO Field at Mile High vs. in-state rival Colorado. Athletic department officials made the announcement Thursday. Ten thousand student tickets are available for purchase, giving students a chance to buy a discounted ticket for the annual rivalry game that pits the Rams and Buffaloes against each other to take home both the Centennial Cup, and bragging rights for their respective schools. The tickets, which will be sold in a convenient print-at-home format, will be available exclusively online at CSURams.com to full-fee paying CSU students with a valid CSUID number. Accessing the link that will be provided, students can purchase one ticket for $15 and a second "guest" ticket for face value, $55. For the second consecutive year, Colorado State is making available to students a Ram Road Trip bus package. Upon paying for their game tickets online, students can purchase up to two bus passes for round-trip transportation. The bus package, which includes food, is an additional $15. Buses will depart from the Transfort Transit Center located just north of the Lory Student Center at 2:15 p.m., Aug. 31, the day of the game. Space is limited. Kickoff is at 5:30 p.m. Once again, students are encouraged to display their CSU Spirit by wearing green to the Qwest Rocky Mountain Showdown as the Rams kick off the new season. Student tickets to all home football games played at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium are available to students free of charge beginning the Monday of the week of each game. Students can pick up the tickets either at the McGraw Center ticket office, or the Lory Student Center information desk.
